When producing a stamped blade knife, the blade is cut out of a sheet of high quality stainless steel then tempered, ground, polished and sharpened. Wenger uses a custom blended stainless steel with an optimal combination of strength and flexibility, (Rockwell hardness tested between 55-58 depending on the specific knife and its function), wear/corrosion resistance, and a long- lasting edge (the edge angle varies between 25 and 30-Degree, depending on the specific knife and its function). Every single knife is sharpened and polished by hand. Each knife is also individually inspected before and after the sharpening process. The handle is ergonomically designed, comfortable and non-slip even when wet. The handle is made from Polyamide 6; is non- porous and resistant to high temperatures. A hermetic seal between the handle and blade prohibits debris or germs from accumulating.
