LamsonSharp 2-Piece Forged Carver Set Specifications

Chances are, if you're buying a carving knife, you're also going to need a carving fork, so you might as well buy the set. These are the sort of utensils that come out of the cupboards on special occasions, so it is important to invest in an attractive set. The LamsonSharp carving knife and fork in this set are both forged from high-carbon stainless steel and attached to Delrin handles with three nickel silver rivets. Forged utensils often cost a bit more than stamped ones, because they are generally heavier and stronger.

The Delrin handles are ergonomic and a good choice for cooks who will use these utensils frequently. The fork has extra-long tines that hold the bird or roast firmly in place during the operation, while the long, sturdy knife blade is hand honed, which produces the razor-sharp edge that makes carving the turkey practically effortless. Oil the handle occasionally with food-grade mineral oil to maintain the traditional luster. --Jill Marquis
